Meal, also in the above version there is the update problem of the virus signatures, the screenshot is now running for about 30 minutes, then the LiveGrid problem which occurred a few days ago and was also reported here, what is still coming and that with an AV? Not good, can you trust such an AV where problems have existed for months? Also the log problems reported months ago already exist over several builds!

Can you still trust such an AV? I'm not so sure if you can still do this, can they answer from Eset me the answer, if you can trust an AV that has been having problems for months? UNd yes, I have already reinstalled Eset twice, then it runs for 1-2 days and then the same errors happen again.

Honestly, you seem to be the only one with this issue here in the forum.

Please continue as follows:
- enable advanced logging under Help and support -> Technical support
- run update
- after a few minutes into the update when it appears to have stuck for more than 1 minute, disable logging
- collect logs with ESET Log Collector and provide the generated archive.

I'd strongly recommend raising a support ticket so that it's properly tracked and looked at by developers.

This is significant.

If your Internet connectivity problems in regards to Eset LiveGrid and update servers were Eset product related, the problem should manifest immediately after installation.

My best guess is it is related to your ISP. ISP's constantly monitor incoming traffic to their servers. Even when third party DNS servers or a VPN is used, all network traffic still passes through their servers. ISP servers also interface with their customer issued modems/routers and are capable of making modifications at will to those devices. It is entirely possible that for some current unknown reason, your ISP is interfering with the routing of network traffic to Eset servers. And, this interference takes a few days to manifest after a new Eset installation.

Likewise, there might be "man-in-the-middle" interception activities occurring either on your device/local network or external to it. You might want to install Wireshark/Fiddler/etc. network traffic monitor and start logging network traffic to "get a grip" on what is going on. You can also use traceroute: https://www.hellotech.com/guide/for/how-to-run-a-traceroute-windows-10 to Eset LiveGrid/update server IP addresses.

@itman, The LiveGrid problem has not occurred anymore, but at irregular intervals the update of the virus signatures hangs, but I see the big picture what have been so many bugs in Eset in recent months and therefore I ask myself, how far can I trust an AV which has had and has had various errors for months?

@Marcos, please do not forget that here is only a very small part of the Eset users, I read on various pages that users have the same problems, also here in the Eset forum.

The statement that there have been recently too many bugs seems exaggerated. I assume we would be able to count them on one hand when speaking about v15.

I was talking generally, not only about this forum. Feel free to post links since you're saying that on various pages users have the same problem. We need something concrete to react to.

If they only talk Marcos about the v15 they are right with the handful, but also a handful is too much with an AV, but I meant from the v14, so I wrote for months.

Every software has its bugs. For instance, Microsoft with many more developers and testers has to release updates every while. If an issue is reported, we at ESET do our best to address it via an automatic module update or in the next service release or hotfix. Even our beta testers call our betas exceptionally perfect. Of course, it doesn't mean they are 100% perfect but it tells something.

First, try to clear Eset update cache:

I also had a similar Eset update hang a while back. Clearing Windows Update cache: https://www.zerodollartips.com/clear-windows-update-cache/ fixed that for me.

Have you done a clean install after using Insider builds?  I had similar problems occurring on version 15.0.14.0 that carried over until I uninstalled in safe mode.

The Insider Builds run with me only on a test PC, not on my main PC's, I'm not crazy and install Insider Builds on a main computer.

@itman, because I can try to clear update cache, but I think something else is going wrong.
