Wittmann 0
I have just installed this program on my desktop and am delighted with it. Having done 4 scans of my PC just to see how it all works - 4 threats picked up and quarantined - last scan run clear - I am very pleased with the program as a standalone manual scanner. One point of concern is that there is no access to quarantine until after a scan has finished, in my case almost 1 hour. So if I have to restore an item, I have to run a scan and wait an hour before I can do it. This is not really acceptable, most other programs give access on opening. There should be a quarantine access facility before any scan. Can this be done ? Mockrát děkuju Edited August 23, 2014 by Wittmann
Wittmann 0
Obviously my point about accessing the quarantine before a scan is of no interest to Eset. Well it is to me and just about every other user and AV program available on the web. It is called "standard practice".

Wittmann 0
Please let us know if the information in the following ESET Knowledgebase article answers your question: How do I restore files quarantined by the ESET Online Scanner? Absolutely brilliant - it worked a treat ! I am sorry in having to prompt a reply, but you supplied it. Nobody else seemed interested. The issue should not be so complicated and should be made clear to all users how to do it on program opening. It should not be necessary to go through this Forum as i have done to find out how to access quarantine without completing a full scan. But I offer my grateful thanks for your highly detailed response. Wittmann PS - Actually if I start Eset with my desktop shortcut and stop it at the point you state, the "manage quarantine" page comes up immediately - it avoids all the steps you outlined in your post. rugk 397
I am sorry in having to prompt a reply, but you supplied it. Nobody else seemed interested. Sorry for the late reply, but it's not true taht we wouldn't be interested. We are all trying to help users and to solve their problems, but in your case there were several reasons why you not got such a quick reaction from a user: Most users in this forum are using the ESET software on the PC, so the Online Scanner won't be used and so we have not many knowlegde about it. Reproducing the problem can take much time. You formulate this not as a problem or "How to..." question, but rather as a suggestion. And because only someone from ESET can reply to a good suggestion in a useful way (like "We will implement it" / "The idea forwared to our developers") no other users wanted to reply to this. So please don't blame us, we are doing this in our freetime (also the ESET moderators).

Wittmann 0
To summarize following the information supplied by "foneil", but with a shorter twist. No accessing Program files. Aim - to use the Eset online scanner as a standalone desktop program. For browsers other than IE, download Eset Smart Installer to your desktop - hxxp://www.eset.com/us/online-scanner-popup/ . Just follow the instructions. An icon is placed on the desktop. Then follow the path :- Run>terms>yes>start>download components>register components>computer scan settings>enable>start>initialization>when past 100%>scan starts>stop>scan results>see "manage quarantine". And that is it. The entire sequence only takes about 30 seconds, no problem at all. My thanks to "foneil" for answering my problem. PS - All this amounts to, is to go through the routine steps to start a scan, then when the scan is running STOP it. The "Manage Quarantine" panel immediately displays and THAT is all which is needed to check quarantine at any time.
