I have a ESMC on premise, the half of the clients are outside the network working remotely, but they have installed the eset agent which is reporting to my ESMC even being outside the LAN (or VPN).

Is it possible somehow to upgrade the products with this topology, instead of having the computers logged in to the vpn?

Yes, since it's agent which downloads the installer in the case of a software install task or Endpoint itself which downloads automatic program updates, if enabled.

We'd recommend upgrading ESMS to ESET PROTECT v9 and Endpoint v9 which fully support automatic program updates.
