ESET 5.3.39.0 - failed authorization_failed ESET remote administrator console

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Facing an issue with ESET 5.3.39.0 remote administrator console. When trying to hit the update now button it says authorization_failed. I can confirm that its got an active license which was renewed recently but its unable to update.

This is on a windows server 2012 R2

Also on the same server I'm unable to do a module update " error message modules update failed " check your network connection and try updating modules again" i have cleared the update cache but still the same issue.

Does any ports or IP's need to be whitelisted on the firewall

Been pulling my hair out all day

ERA v5 already reached EOL as per https://support.eset.com/en/kb3592-is-my-eset-product-supported-eset-end-of-life-policy-business-products#list.

Did you use it to update ESET Endpoint v6.5? Is EEA 6.5 installed on a legacy OS that is not supported by EEA 8.1?

I do understand that ERA 5.x has reached end of life. Does this mean that updating to a newer version will fix the issue?

We are using windows server 2012 r2 for eset remote administration 5.1. And windows 7 for the eea.

Which version should we upgrade this to, to resolve this issue.

No, newer versions of ERA (ESET Security Managenement Center, ESET PROTECT) do not create a mirror, however, for this purpose you can use the command-line mirror tool. However, we recommend using an http proxy instead of a local mirror wherever possible in order to save network traffic and take advantage of streamed updates.

1, Use ESET PROTECT to manage ESET security products (ESET Endpoint, ESET Server Security).
2, Use ESET Server Security to protect the server.
3, Use ESET Endpoint (Antivirus or Security, whichever you purchased) v8.1 on endpoints.

If clients have access to a machine / server with Internet connection, we recommend installing http proxy on it and pointing ESET on clients to connect through it.
