Scanning, idle - laptop turns off , suggestions ?

Well the title says it all how do you guys scan especially when it takes 4 hours +, my laptop becomes a bit slower while scanning but if im not on it it turns off the idle , any suggestions ?

You could adjust your power settings so that the laptop doesn't go to sleep if plugged in. Schedule a scan to run in the night and configure it to turn off the machine after the scan completes.
