psychopomp1 5 Posted September 13, 2021 Posted September 13, 2021 Hi I've noticed web pages in Chrome load slightly faster with web filtering switched off in ESET Internet Security but then I get the annoying red warning in ESET. Is there any way to switch off web filering and not get any warnings? Thanks
Administrators Marcos 5,742 Posted September 13, 2021 Administrators Posted September 13, 2021 It's possible in the application statuses setup but why would you disable a critical protection layer that protects you from entering malicious websites or downloading malware not detected by other modules? Disabling WAP substantially increases the chances of getting infected.

Thanks As Marcos has mentioned you can disable the alert but the question really is is the extra slight speed worth the sacrifice and the risks
jmcnab 0 Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 It has nothing to do with the amount of protection. The question is how to disable the alert. It is not outside the bounds of reason that an Administrator would want to apply a different policy to different workstations. A constant alert regarding the web access or phishing disabled is annoying when i want that policy applied that way. Regardless of speed or efficacy. So how do you disable web protection and phishing protection and not have it alert within a policy?

You can disable the warning in the application statuses setup: Again, you do it on your own responsibility and risk and you cannot blame ESET for possible infection after disabling crucial protection features.
