ESET is not saving a checkbox setting

One of the users I support complained today that ESET on his Mac keeps prompting him with a popup every time he inserts an external USB thumb drive. Our IT Security does not want to disable that feature entirely. However, when I selected "Remember this action" when scanning, and when selecting "Do not show this dialog again" for the results, it still displays both popups. The next time I plug that same drive into the Mac, the same popups come back. Is there a reason that the checkboxes would not work as expected?
