AUserInEssex 0
Admittedly, I did install the program whilst having - but not having set to run at boot - Comodo antivirus. But then I uninstalled Comodo, uninstalled ESET, and reinstalled Comodo. But now - and indeed previously - shortly after booting my whole machine, save the mouse pointer, freezes. Even CTRL-ALT-BACKSPACE (which is meant to log off and back on again) does nothing. Nasty. Advice, please? EDIT: the problem seems to occur only when I open folders (and, so far, all those folders have been on my desktop). EDIT 2: ah, the problem may have been that somehow I had a setting set to invert my mouse buttons, meaning that left-clicking did nothing. That said, there ESET log was full of errors, a sample of which is: 22/07/14 01:26:50 Preload library access control Cannot scan: Daemon closed connection 22/07/14 01:26:50 Preload library access control Cannot read from socket: Resource temporarily unavailable 22/07/14 01:26:50 Preload library access control Cannot scan: Daemon closed connection 22/07/14 01:26:50 Preload library access control Cannot read from socket: Resource temporarily unavailable 22/07/14 01:26:40 Preload library access control Cannot scan: Daemon closed connection 22/07/14 01:26:40 Preload library access control Cannot read from socket: Resource temporarily unavailable 22/07/14 01:26:30 Preload library access control Cannot scan: Daemon closed connection 22/07/14 01:26:30 Preload library access control Cannot read from socket: Resource temporarily unavailable 22/07/14 01:26:30 Preload library access control Cannot scan: Daemon closed connection 22/07/14 01:26:30 Preload library access control Cannot read from socket: Resource temporarily unavailable 22/07/14 01:26:20 Preload library access control Cannot scan: Daemon closed connection 22/07/14 01:26:20 Preload library access control Cannot read from socket: Resource temporarily unavailable 22/07/14 01:26:10 ESET Daemon /opt/COMODO/cmdagent - OPEN - Long scan time:40sec [ts:Tue Jul 22 01:25:30 2014 te:Tue Jul 22 01:26:10 2014] for /home/nicholas/.config/dconf/user 22/07/14 01:26:10 ESET Daemon /usr/lib/dconf/dconf-service - CREATE - Long scan time:40sec [ts:Tue Jul 22 01:25:30 2014 te:Tue Jul 22 01:26:10 2014] for /home/nicholas/.config/dconf/user 22/07/14 01:26:10 Preload library access control Cannot scan: Daemon closed connection Edited July 22, 2014 by AUserInEssex
Arakasi 549
Hello, Were you using or have you used sudo apt-get purge "app" yet for both ESET and Comodo ? Or did you go to Applications > System tools > Nod32 uninstaller ?
