Media Player Classic

[Guest Need advice]

I am looking for a decent video player and many on the Internet recommend media player classic (mpc). I know my questions are not quite related, but 

1. What is the official web to the mpc player? I found many download links but i don't know which one is the official one. I am afraid of accidentally downloading malware.

2. What is the fork version on github?

3. Is mpc safe and trusted by the community?
