Hello, a friend had bought a multi user/1 year subscription for internet security. The product was activated on all systems.

Since a new machine was purchased to replace one of the existing ones, eset was uninstalled on the old rig. Upon installation on the new one the friend realized that he had lost the license key to activate eset on the new system.

What can be done in this case?

Hello Marcos, I'm afraid he did not use a license mail address.

Can he extract the key from the other installations?

The public license ID can be found under Help and support in the main GUI.

Please excuse my ignorance here: is this public license id the same as the license key he needs to activate?

No. Providing the public license key will enable us to find the user's license.

Hello @Marcos, on a related context I've got a multi user license similar to the one described here, that I am unable to activate. According to the installer it is already expired, although I recall that I have never used it. This license was bought from Amazon if I recall correctly two years ago and I'm unable to figure out who to contact...

Would it be ok if I contacted you with the license key and my details? Thanks in advance!

You can post the license public ID here. I'll check the license then.

I'm sorry, I was not provided with a public ID upon purchase, just a license key...

You can send me the license key in a private message then.

A license with the license key you provided doesn't exist.

I assume this explains it: This license was bought from Amazon if I recall correctly two years ago.

If the seller sold it to more people, it was most likely cancelled and there I cannot find it any more.

Marcos, this was a sealed ESET package, not an electronic key. I will provide you with the details over a PM.

@Marcos I've been communicating with Amazon. Due to the time passed they can not provide a refund, but they've provided an email statement that the license is defective. Due to the personal information enclosed, I'll be passing this to you over a PM.

@Marcosthank you for your intervention. ESET support replaced the key with another one!

Much obliged!
