Guest Guest Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 I downloaded a program installer of Realplayer from its official website (https://www.real.com/thankyou?rppr=home). However, I uploaded the exe to Virustotal and it shows trojans are detected. https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/4b01852ab9743de65c26d89d3cf14cc12900bcada2d46fb015a8537b7164e419/detection I thought Real is a reputable company. To be safe, I moved the exe to quarantine. Question 1: Files in quarantine cannot harm my computer right? Question 2: I haven't executed the exe yet. Should I be worried.
Administrators Marcos 5,452 Posted June 29, 2021 Administrators Posted June 29, 2021 It's a potentially unwanted application (PUA), not a trojan or malware. The detection is optional and correct; the application fulfills criteria for potentially unwanted applications. For more information what PUAs are, please refer to https://support.eset.com/en/kb2629.
