rclay5097 0
We recently had a file server nearly fill up with 50+ GBs of files that are named similar to NOD9E12.tmp, located within C:\Windows\Temp\. Are these files suppose to be automatically deleted by ESET as a form of cleanup? Or do we have to monitor this and delete when they are generated. According to the below links, these are generated by ESET during On-Demand scans of archives: Large tmp file in Temp Folder - ESET Endpoint Products - ESET Security Forum What are these non-existent temp files "C:\Windows\Temp\NOD****.tmp" - ESET NOD32 Antivirus - ESET Security Forum Here is the requisite manual link: ThreatSense parameters | ESET File Security | ESET Online Help We have SFX (self-extracting files) configured to be scanned. Administrators Marcos 4,713 Posted March 24, 2021 Administrators Share Posted March 24, 2021 Yes, temp files are deleted automatically unless the scanner crashes or the machine is rebooted during the scan.
rclay5097 0
Marcos, That is it! Thank you. Yes these files do appear during the times when the server would be performing the weekly reboot. Do we have any control over the time of these scans. Can I exclude a timeframe, say (2) hours worth?
Administrators Marcos 4,713 Posted March 24, 2021 Administrators Share Posted March 24, 2021 You can schedule the scan at an earlier time so that it has already completed by the time the server is rebooted.
