adjust start-up scan / testing mode

a user/administrator needs the ability to 'place' the star-up scan into a 'delayed-start' mode [as opposed to disabling the feature altogether, which is apparently the only option provided within the application]

Unfortunately it's not possible. Startup scans are run with lowest priority possible and with smart optimization enabled so they should not have any noticeable effect on performance.

When comparing benchmark tests between:

1) systems having OS core & OS apps only (no 'non-OS' apps); versus

2) systems having OS core & OS apps as well as ESET internet security installed...

...the time required to achieve 'usable system' (i.e., a user can commence launching OS system apps) is significantly longer for the post-ESET-installation systems.  Upon analysis, it appears that ESET's start-up/boot-up scan is the significant difference.

If your system is unusable during startup scans, I'd recommend opening a support ticket with your local ESET distributor for further troubleshooting. I for one am not aware of any reports of such issue from our users so far.
