Secure Browser Certificate - no padlock

Recommended Posts

Below is what appears for B&PP when auto opened from bank site URL in normal Firefox browser mode. What browser are you using?

Also your screenshot reflects some interfacing with Win Group Policy based on the "IT Administrator" wording shown.

We are using Remote Administrator to manage endpoint security - that's probably what's meant by "IT Administrator"

My screenshot is from Chrome - it looks like you have the same issue. Your padlock has a red slash through it.

In FireFox, this indicates the connection is not secure. That would be correct for the B&PP created web page since there is no direct HTTPS connection ,or any network connection for that matter, associated with it. When B&PP starts up, it displays this web page but you will be redirected to the bank's web site page which should be shown as a HTTPS connection.

That's confusing. The url shows a connection to sb.eset.com/...... Why wouldn't it be secure?

Everything on an eset.com should be secure, however, it seems sb.eset.com is not secure - that's a problem.

As shown below if Eset B&PP is opened stand-alone via desktop icon, the connection is shown as secure. I believe when B&PP is opened via the browser, the "start" secured browser mode web page has to be done as previously noted:

The ESET Secure Browser opens with a green border surrounding it and the Secured by ESET tag.
