SweX 871
Hello, Could it be that you changed the firewall mode when you used ESS 7, and there was no allow rule created for any of the browsers.? Did it also happen when the ESS firewall was in the default "automatic" mode? I ask this since you say it works fine when you tried NOD32 wich doesn't have a firewall like ESS. sky7 19
If you are using router, maybe ESET firewall (setting) is culprit.

ranger714 0
All browsers were put on exception list as well as frequently used programs I don't use a wireless router desktop is hardwired disabled firewall and still no access my thought is its a program glitch it only happens with ess
Arakasi 549
In addition, adding the browsers to which exception list ? If you added it to the real time protection exclusion, that is primarily for disk level threats. Not a networking issue. You need to create exclusions for your local subnet 192.168.x.x , vs chrome.exe. Also Asus has a line of products that ESET blocks traffic with. What is your router ? Administrators Marcos 5,243 Posted June 30, 2014 Administrators Share Posted June 30, 2014 What about temporarily disabling protocol filtering in the Web protection setup? Does it make a difference?
Hesynergy 0
What about temporarily disabling protocol filtering in the Web protection setup? Does it make a difference? Does temporarily changing firewall integration to "Personal protocol filtering is completely disabled" or "Only scan application protocols" make a difference? If not, what about temporarily disabling application protocol filtering or disabling ESET Lightweight filter in your LAN connection properties? Same problem...I install windows 10, and then ESS and I lose my Internet connection. Disabling firewall gives me the internet back. I seem to recall a certain setting that has escaped my memory at the moment where I can turn off filtering on 192.168.1.1 … My routers IP address , please advise on quick and dirty solution. What is the setting for NOT blocking my own router from in and outbound port 80??...seems to be a bug in the install process! Administrators Marcos 5,243 Posted August 31, 2015 Administrators Share Posted August 31, 2015 If disabling firewall help, I'd suggest carrying on as follows: - enable logging of all blocked connections in the IDS setup - clear the firewall log - restart the computer - reproduce the issue - stop the logging - copy & paste firewall records here. Also please use the latest version of ESS 8.0.319 and also enable pre-release updates so that you test it with the most current modules.
