divad140 0
Hi, I have created a media control policy, because basically nobody is allowed to use USB sticks. This works also wonderfully. How can I unlock single USB sticks? I think by adding a rule. I don't know what serial number eset expects, in the log files it says "6" for serial number, which doesn't work. How do I find out the correct serial number of my stick?
Administrators Marcos 4,694 Posted January 11, 2021 Administrators Share Posted January 11, 2021 In order to determine the serial number of a device, connect the device, open the Device Control rule editor and click Populate. Alternatively you can determine it from ESET PROTECT reports after setting the warning severity for particular Device Control blocking rules. Administrators Marcos 4,694 Posted January 11, 2021 Administrators Share Posted January 11, 2021 You must open the Device Control rule editor in Endpoint, not in the ESET PROTECT web console.

divad140 0
The serialnumber is "6". When I add all these informations to a rule, it doesent work.
Administrators Solution Marcos 4,694 Posted January 11, 2021 Administrators Solution Share Posted January 11, 2021 Unfortunately the USB disk doesn't provide CM_DEVCAP_UNIQUEID (can be normally seen in Device Manager) so there is no way for us to identify it. You should use a USB disk that provides CM_DEVCAP_UNIQUEID.
