how to unlock USB sticks while using media control policy

Hi,

I have created a media control policy, because basically nobody is allowed to use USB sticks. This works also wonderfully. How can I unlock single USB sticks? I think by adding a rule. I don't know what serial number eset expects, in the log files it says "6" for serial number, which doesn't work. How do I find out the correct serial number of my stick?

In order to determine the serial number of a device, connect the device, open the Device Control rule editor and click Populate. Alternatively you can determine it from ESET PROTECT reports after setting the warning severity for particular Device Control blocking rules.

Unfortunately the USB disk doesn't provide CM_DEVCAP_UNIQUEID (can be normally seen in Device Manager) so there is no way for us to identify it. You should use a USB disk that provides CM_DEVCAP_UNIQUEID.
