TheSkymanDC 4
ESMC is showing a new version is out. Used an existing "install latest" task as I always do on a test machine. Task runs, says complete. Test machine says I need to reboot. But the version installed is still 7.3.2044.0. Is there a new procedure?
Administrators Marcos 5,394 Posted December 8, 2020 Administrators Share Posted December 8, 2020 For me it worked. However, the release of v8 is yet to be announced and ESET Endpoint Security v8 is not yet ready in the repository.
ESET Staff MichalJ 434 Posted December 9, 2020 ESET Staff Share Posted December 9, 2020 @TheSkymanDC when you mention "install latest" what particular task have you used? As tasks in ESMC always reference a particular version, meaning the task needs to be updated. Or you selected the "quick action" in the dashboard, to upgrade endpoints, and a new software install task was created?
TheSkymanDC 4
Rather than create a new task for each release we have a task that uses https://download.eset.com/com/eset/apps/business/eea/windows/latest/eea_nt64.msi Has worked well for a couple of years. ESET Staff MichalJ 434 Posted December 9, 2020 ESET Staff Share Posted December 9, 2020 That might be the reason. Latest links might have not yet been updated correctly, to reflect the V8 release. You simply triggered the update too early, as usually it takes some time, until the changes are reflected around all locations.
