Anti-theft suspicious activity email

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have just received an email entitled: ESET Anti-Theft: Suspicious behavior detected on your device.

With the body text:

ESET Anti-Theft has recorded suspicious activity on your device xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Someone has logged on the device using the Phantom Account. If you don't know the location of the device, sign in to your my.eset.com account at eset and confirm it as Missing. ESET Anti-Theft will start monitoring the activity on the device to help you find out its position.

The device is secure and does not appear to have been interfered with.

Why would I get this message if the device was logged into by one fo the valid user accounts at the time of the email?

Thanks,

David.

If you logged into the phantom account you will get that e-mail. That account is not for using or logging in.

Login to the web and report your device as not missing if its in your possession. :)

The thing is the account was not logged into, so why did I get the message?

As Arakasi wrote, someone was logged into phantom account (even if you dont't know about it), so be sure, your computer is not listed as missing...
