polcalweng 0
We setup web control on our OSX device and it works but on OSX Catalina, it seems not reflecting. Is there an compatibility issue with Catalina and ESet?
Administrators Marcos 5,242 Posted October 1, 2020 Administrators Share Posted October 1, 2020 Please provide more details about what you blocked in Web Control but it did not work. Did you also try to add port 443 to the list of ports scanned by web protection?
polcalweng 0
Hi, I just added it right now. But the weird thing is without adding it, it works on another unit running on Sierra OSX.
Administrators Marcos 5,242 Posted October 1, 2020 Administrators Share Posted October 1, 2020 It works for http websites. However, for https websites the port 443 must be added. Also there is a limitation that the filtering will work only for hostnames but not for urls with a hostname and a path since SSL filtering is not supported on Mac yet. Also adding the port 443 to the list of ports may cause issues with certain https websites; in such case it will need to be removed from the list.
