DerAdler 0
Hi everyone, since few days, I'm experiencing a problem with NOD32 and the TOR browser. While I try to get the latest Win 32bit installer (English) from the official Tor Project download page, my Nod32 Antivirus (v.13.2.18.0) keeps detecting the downloaded EXE file as a "Suspicious Object" and to remove/quarantine it. If I try to get the 64bit installer, tho, the problem doesn't occur during the download, but during the installation the file xul.dll (%ProgramFiles%\Tor Browser\Browser\xul.dll) is detected as "Suspicious Object" and removed/quarantined. I tried (on different devices/PCs) both on 32bit and 64bit environments and both on Windows 10 and Windows 7. I also tried with 2 different versions of Nod32 Antivirus (v.13.2.18.0 and older v.12.2.31.0); very same issue. Is there any reason why this xul.dll is triggering this (false) threat flag? Is it a "false positive"? (same considerations for the 32bit installer) Please, can anyone investigate about this issue? Thanks!
Administrators Solution Marcos 4,926 Posted September 12, 2020 Administrators Solution Share Posted September 12, 2020 The file should be no longer detected.

Yes, I did noticed that after a week from my post NOD32 was no longer detecting both the installer and the xul.dll files as "Suspicious Object". Thanks.
