I guess the only way to make a setting to do a manual update instead of automatic update after each system startup, is to change this setting in the screenshot below?

Thanks.

I will also add that in-product updating is always a more secure update method that manual updating; contrary to popular belief. Manual updating opens one up to a phishing attack. A recent example is the WastedLocker ransomware that deployed a fake Google Chrome update request.

In case of no internet connection or connection failure, ESET will try to run the automatic update later again, right?

What's the update frequency for ESET to update it's module?

It's been hours since it last updated the signatures.

Is this normal? I thought the frequency was every hour or two?

About 6 hours during weekends. Anyways, streamed updates coupled with the LiveGrid reputation system ensure receiving newly added detections every few minutes.

Thank you @Marcos

So it's about every 6hrs during weekends for signature updates?

What about during Mon-Fri?

For me, it's 3 - 4 hours with it closer to 3 hours the majority of time.

Also as mentioned, anything of a critical nature is pushed within minutes via streamed or LiveGrid updates.
