is any eset product scanning also the EFI bootsector like on Windows the UEFI?

Any ESET security product v7+ for Windows scans UEFI. As far as Mac OS is concerned, I recall that we don't support UEFI scan there.

Not sure if any AV's do, it isn't really required though.

I've bought a used Macbook pro from 2012.

Oh well I was hit by a UEFI trojan two years ago...
