JWE 0 Posted April 28, 2020 Posted April 28, 2020 Hello, i have some Questions about the http proxy module. Situation: Wo have a older offline installation with many different versions of the ESET AV (Endpoint,Filesecurity,Node32 AV4,... ). At the moment the clients get theire signature updates via the mirror option in one special client on port 2221. I have installed the ERA-Tool 6.5 on this PC and set up the HTTP-Proxy (Port 3128). I have changed the policy to forbid the direct "update" connection to the Internet for the local client (Filesecurity 6.5) and set the http proxy as update Proxy. This works fine. If i changed any other client by hand (they are not listed in the ERA because they have no agent and port 2222 is blocked at the moment) it get no updates - Message: "File not found on Server" (Translated from german: "Datei nicht gefunden auf Server"). I have tested this with a Node32 4.2, a Endpoint 6.4 and a Endpoint 7.2. I can contact the http Proxy via hxxp://[IP]:3128/index.html What have i done wrong. If i activate the mirror funktion in the client on the ERA Server (port 2221) and set the client Proxy to this one everything works fine. Can somebody help me with this issue or have an idea what i can check ? With kind regards Jörg Weigmann
Administrators Marcos 5,443 Posted April 28, 2020 Administrators Posted April 28, 2020 ESET v4 is very old and is not supported any more. Please make sure to uninstall it and install Endpoint 6.5 if it's Windows XP. If it's Windows 7, install the latest v7.2. On a machine with Endpoint 7.2 configured to update through the proxy, enable advanced network and update engine logging under Tools -> Diagnostics in the advanced setup and run update. Next disable logging, collect logs with ESET Log Collector and upload the generated archive here.
JWE 0 Posted April 28, 2020 Author Posted April 28, 2020 Hello, thank you for the fast reply. I'm not allow to install 7.2 on a Windows 7 System. The installer quits with the message "Eset Endpoint Antivirus is not supported for my old version of Microsoft Windows. (That was transletd form german).
Administrators Marcos 5,443 Posted April 28, 2020 Administrators Posted April 28, 2020 Make sure that you have SP1 installed as well as updates KB4474419 and KB4490628. These would bring support for SHA-256 code signing which is a prerequisite for Endpoint v7+. Endpoint 6.6 will require SHA-256 support as well.
