CThompson 0
Is there a way to have client task "Operating System Update" force a Win10 client to 'check online' for updates when the client is configured to default to an internal update server? Administrators Marcos 4,693 Posted April 16, 2020 Administrators Share Posted April 16, 2020 By internal update server you mean a machine that provides ESET clients with updates from a mirror? If so, the mirror has nothing to do with OS updates. Clients connect to Microsoft or WSUS servers to get OS updates when speaking about Windows OS. ESET Staff MichalJ 430 Posted April 16, 2020 ESET Staff Share Posted April 16, 2020 Hello @CThompson The way our task works is, that it instructs Windows over WMI, to "apply detected updates". It does not force them to check another source, than the one which is configured on that machine. Alternatively (but I have not researched this forward) a run command task can be used, if there is a specific command that Microsoft provides to override default Windows update settings.
