mekado 0
Hi, We've recently changed one of our clients computers for a new one and changed the software setup (outlook 2013 instead of her old 2007). Now her outlook has been extremely slow (3+ seconds to open a one-word email, 8secs+ to open a big one) from the start. I did some testing today to try and find out where the slowness came from and it turns out by deactivating the ESET outlook plugin every email now opens up instantly. I obviously don't want to leave her without an antivirus but i was wondering if someone had an idea why this is so slow ? Note: We changed 3 machines at the same time at this location, 2 of them are working just fine with the same setup (outlook 2013+eset)
Arakasi 549
Hello, Have you tried checking to make sure there are no other security products installed ? Run the ESET Uninstaller from Safe mode, it will catch other software drivers as well. Does a fresh install of ESET make a difference ? I asked the above due to the fact you have 2 machines already running smoothly with the Outlook 2013/ESET combination.
Administrators Marcos 4,838 Posted April 23, 2014 Administrators Share Posted April 23, 2014 We'll need to get an ESET plug-in log for analysis. Will provide you with instructions how to create it via a pm.

Yes the installation is clean, in fact the computer is barely 2 weeks old (we replaced their whole setup at the same time with identical machines, hers is slow the others are fine) I did uninstall and reinstall anyways, no other security software was detected
bmp999 0
Just installed NOD32 V8 (latest version off the website) on a freshly reloaded HP laptop (windows 8.1 Home, Office 2013 Home and Business, Quicken 2012) yesterday and today the client called and said OUTLOOK crashed and offered the user to enable or disable the ESET Add-on. We tried to Enable and Outlook Crashed again so the only way to make it work is to disable it. This client needs email protection. So 8 months after the last post, the issue is still present. I've been using ESET on all clients systems for 6+ years and it is overall very dependable. It did work for 1 day error free, but then started crashing OUTLOOK today (next day). I did notice that the Outlook .PST file was ~6GB+ in size. I compacted .PST yesterday. And I recommended the user purge many of the 30K+ emails in the sent folder from 2004 to 2013. Hoping that there is a quick fix for this. Any suggestions?
