update size difference between ERA & eset offline

Recommended Posts

i'm using ERA Server in my network

and copy my mirror update on file server

there is strange difference between the size of the two

mirror size is about 85 - 90 MB

offline update from ESET is about 40 - 45

both offline files work correctly

I'm surprised at the difference and don't know the reason for this difference

Can someone explain to me?

Regards

Unfortunately, it's not clear what mirrors you compared. A mirror created by ESET File Security with a mirror created by ESET Remote Administrator?

Well if its in zip then its compressed.

Are you comparing msi packages ? Or nup files ??

Are you talking about a definition update ?

Can you be more specific as to which update ? Give version numbers and steppings if you know them. ie 5.01.1.1

ERA Service usually store definition update

ERA Server & Console 5.1.34.0 Eng

compressed or not compressed update files

doesn't matter

A bundled package build with ERA is going to contain 32 bit and 64 bit versions, as to avoid deployment headaches.

i didn't mention about deployment

What are you downloading.

Provide link please.

hxxp://download.eset.com/download/.../.../offline_update_eav.zip

These are not standard update files; the package is intended only for special cases and is not supported otherwise.

sorry for late

But this package is updated every day and password required for downloading

That doesn't mean it's supported and intended for regular users. It's a special package that is not available to the wide public.

In other words, don't use that link for updates or new versions of programs.

Update through the program's interface.

Update from the actual vendor website main index. hxxp://www.eset.com/us/download/

Update using ESET Remote Administrator Console, whether its version, or your mirror with definitions for your clients.

:)
