qwer1304 0
Major issue with Eset NOD AV 13.0.24.0 and 13.1.16.0 and Chrome: Since Chrome update to 82.0.4083 (and later 82.0.4085.4 being the latest) both on Canary and Dev channels, there's a HUGE memory consumption issue in Chrome (>8GB) on (almost) all sites (especially gmail) that cause tabs to crash with SBOX_FATAL_MEMORY_EXCEEDED error. Removing NOD resolves the issue, reinstalling it back recreates it and so forth. There's no such issue in Chrome Canary and Dev 82.0.4077.0. qwer1304 0
Other Eset NOD32 users are experiencing this too. See https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=1060652 I surely hope Eset work this out with Google as Eset products are at present incompatible with upcoming Chrome versions. Don't think they can forego Chrome users. Edited March 17, 2020 by qwer1304
Most Valued Members Nightowl 206 Posted March 17, 2020 Most Valued Members Share Posted March 17, 2020 It's not about ESET to work out with Google , as they are not partners but ESET protects your browser from phishing or links and etc .. , it's google that does changes so fast I think without telling anybody that will make other products which work with it to break but for an AV company that have million of customers with Chrome , they can't make a swift update , because that might break and not fix it for people. ESET Moderators Peter Randziak 1,158 Posted March 20, 2020 ESET Moderators Share Posted March 20, 2020 Hello guys, can you please get a dump from the Chrome once the error is displayed and output from ESET log collector for us to check? Once you have them compress them, upload to a safe location and send me the download details, I will have them checked. Peter
ESET Moderators Peter Randziak 1,158 Posted March 20, 2020 ESET Moderators Share Posted March 20, 2020 Hello guys, @qwer1304, @jojodev, @Nightowl thank you for spotting the issue and reporting it. The issue should be fixed in the Script scanner module 1069, as of now available for pre-release ESET update users. Full release should be today, so you may switch to pre-release updates to get it immediately or wait a day or so to the update. After receiving Script scanner module 1069 update it Chrome restart is required. Peter
