Eset security is disabled in "Administrative Tools" "Services".  It cannot be enabled or have its status changed to automatic.  When changed and apply is clicked, an error message of "Access Denied" is displayed.

Eset SysInspector will run, manually.

Eset security cannot be enabled to run on boot using msconfig.

After installation, it ran once, found 57 possible threats and cleaned 54 of them.  Three could not be accessed and were possibly in use by the system.  Reboot to safe mode to prevent files from being in use was successful, but eset would not run.  Reboot to standard mode did not get eset to run.

Eset version 10.10.58.0; Windows 7 Professional.

Does running a scan with ESET Online Scanner find some threats? If not, try running the Uninstall tool in safe mode and then install the latest version of EAV v13.0.24 from scratch.

I'd recommend upgrading your license from ESET NOD32 Antivirus to ESET Internet Security or ESET Smart Security Premium. Upgrade to EIS will not only bring features like Anti-Theft, Antispam, Parental Control and firewall but also Network protection which can recognize  unknown bots based on communication and also protect you from brute-force RDP/SQL/SMB attacks as well as from exploitation of unpatched vulnerabilities in network protocols.
