ESET File Security install on Windows Server 2019

Recommended Posts

Downloaded and install a trial on one of our non production servers. On finishing the install we got a full system restart without warning. Event viewer confirms the unplanned restart.

Version 7.1.12006.0

On restart I'm prompted for updates but each time we get an update was interrupted even though it finishes the download.

Anyone seen any of these before ?? (I've checked existing threads before posting)

A computer restart is not required after a fresh install, only after upgrade from an older version. Even then the machine is not restarted automatically but the protection status changes and notifies you that a restart is needed.

When installing a security product remotely, the option to automatically reboot is not enabled by default:

Are there any recent records in the system event log about a crash that might have occurred during installation, e.g. due to a clash with another driver or whatever?
