Clients reporting license expiring soon

We recently got the ESET Endpoint Antivirus for Mac license extended for another year and it looks fine in the license manager site however many of our client machines are reporting locally that their license will expire at the end of the month. Will these machines automatically update the license expiration date? Is there documentation about that?

Not sure how it is with Endpoint for Mac but Endpoint for Windows checks for changes in the license via DNS queries in a 5 min. interval. You can suppress notifications in protection statuses:

Hello @Marc K

Are your Endpoints activated using license key / security admin credentials?  Or have you activated them using offline license file ?

In case the second one, you will have to reactivate with a new license file, in case the first one, can you verify that your endpoints can access https://edf.eset.com/edf?  When connectivity to our license servers is broken somehow, your endpoints are not able to get the updated license information.

Last option could be, that the license did not correctly export to our update servers, however for that we would need your public license ID, so we can check whether there are no sync issues with your license.

MichalJ thanks for the info that is useful. The clients are now reporting updated license dates. It looks like we are all clear now. I guess I should have waited a little longer.

For reference we use the license key installed in the pkg using the add_token command. It does appear many of those reporting the expire notice were on laptops that are not on a network as often as desktops. Having a command line options to force the client to check with the license server would be useful. Better yet the client should check with the license server before ever giving the user a notice.
