Phantom Account and Anti theft

Recommended Posts

Hi all I just purchased ESET. I have come across a couple of things you might need to know. The Phantom account that you create for the anti theft. Do not open it if your computer is not stolen. It took me ages to get my normal account back. Plus here is a question. The anti theft program. If my computer is stolen how do I let ESET know if it is stolen. I dont have a phone and I only have this one computer.

1, You can log into any account providing you know the password. The phantom account doesn't use any password, however, logging into it will be evaluated as a suspicious activity and reported in the Anti-Theft portal.

2, You mark your device as missing in the Anti-Theft portal at my.eset.com.

That is my point. There is no password. I clicked on my phantom account and it opened but then I couldnt sign out. The only way I could or know I could is to system restore. Any clues. LOL Not that I will be doing it again.😃😃

If you enter into phantom account, your device state is changed to suspicious.

To revert it back to normal, go to my.eset.com, log in, go to Anti-theft, hit your device and mark it as Normal.
