itman 1,542
Elaborating, Eset switched the GUI to the Win Metro interface on vers. 9+. As such, all ver. 8 custom rules and the like will have to be re-entered from scratch. This does bring back painful memories .......................... Administrators Marcos 4,713 Posted September 23, 2019 Administrators Share Posted September 23, 2019 To put it right, you can export and import cfg within gui in legacy versions but cfg files between v8 and v9+ are not compatible. Rose
Rose 0
But what about the version 9 ? Is there a command to import the XML file without having to enter the gui? Like: ecmd /setcfg c:\config.xml

Again, you can not import into vers. 9 and later from an export file created in ver. 8 and prior. Eset internally changed the formatting of the GUI to support the Win Metro interface. Additionally, the GUI layout pages were also changed. Unfortunately, Eset did not provide a ver. 8 formatted export file conversion utility either. All your existing ver. 8 settings and rules will have to be manually re-entered. You should have upgraded from ver. 8 long ago. Administrators Marcos 4,713 Posted September 27, 2019 Administrators Share Posted September 27, 2019 You could install the latest version v12.2 over v8; the settings should be converted alright and subsequently you can export the configuration from v12 and import it into v12 installed on another machine for instance.
