ivan.perez 0
Hi all, first post here. want to know why my policies become read only? I am the admin of the Management console, so logging in should give me rights to adjust policies? Am I missing something. thanks.
Administrators Marcos 5,243 Posted August 29, 2019 Administrators Share Posted August 29, 2019 It depends on the permission set assigned to your account.

Account permissions don't apply in my case i believe, to clarify I am the admin and I use the original admin account. not one created for me, would be weird if that didn't grant full access, no?? Administrators Marcos 5,243 Posted August 29, 2019 Administrators Share Posted August 29, 2019 Actually we do not recommend using the default super-admin account for everyday work; it's a good practice to create a new admin account. However, that is not related to the issue, it's just a recommendation. Please post some screen shots that would demonstrate the issue, maybe it was not clear enough. With the default admin account you should have no issues editing policies.

Administrators Marcos 5,243 Posted August 30, 2019 Administrators Share Posted August 30, 2019 It's clear now. You clicked the Settings tab to view a policy instead of selecting Edit from the menu: MichalJ
ESET Staff MichalJ 434 Posted September 2, 2019 ESET Staff Share Posted September 2, 2019 Just to add, we have reworked the policies screen layout for the upcoming release to prevent this confusion. Settings page is "read only" view over the policy. If you want to adjust it, you need to edit. Now the "edit" button will be directly present in the policy details. Administrators Marcos 5,243 Posted September 5, 2019 Administrators Share Posted September 5, 2019 No exact date has been set yet so what we can tell is that it should be in Q4/2019.
