Firewall CPU Spike 85%

Recommended Posts

I am running chromedriver but 'firewall helper' is causing cpu to spike every now and then. I have added to the zone rules but its not doing anything. If i end it manually it drops back down.

Unfortunately it is not clear what ESET product and version you use.  Do you experience the issue only when ChromeDriver is running?

Eset internet security v12.2.23.0. And yes only when chromedriver is running.

I'd recommend that you:
- enable advanced logging under Help and support -> Details for customer care
- reproduce the issue
- disable logging
- collect logs with ESET Log Collector
- raise a support ticket with your local customer care and supply them with ELC logs as well as instructions how to reproduce the issue.

I disabled eset firewall but eset helper was still spiking the cpu! I tried to uninstall it but wouldn't even complete the uninstallation  until i closed all chromedriver tests or rebooted.

Why does it use eset helper when i have set windows firewall as the default?

It's not ESET Firewall Helper but the ESET service. Looks like it's performing http(s) filtering which, for some reason, causes strain on CPU with Chromedriver running. It needs to be investigated by developers, hence I'd recommend contacting customer care as advised above.
