How to export PCs in ERA 6?

Recommended Posts

How do we export all the PCs with Endpoint 6 installed in ERA 6?

Secondly we have notebook clients which have two different IP addresses when connected to LAN cable (eg. VLAN 1) or wireless LAN (VLAN 7). The license will count as one or two?

Hello @kent2010. What do you mean by "export" ? What is the use-case you want to achieve?

License is calculated only by seat, regardless of the network adapter. However, I will recommend to install Endpoint V7.1 as that one has improvements related to hardware fingerprint report mechanism to prevent duplication of seats. But ESMC / ERA does not count licenses, our licensing system does.

I would also recommend to upgrade whatever version of ERA 6 you are running to ESMC V7.

We want to export all the PCs that listed in ERA 6 into csv format so we can have reference.

We just upgraded our PCs from Endpoint 5 to 6 & half of the PCs still running Windows XP Pro. We don't think we will upgrade to version 7.1 very soon.

@kent2010 I would strongly emphasize to do the server upgrade, it´s backward compatible with older agents / products. And server upgrade is very simple (unless you use multitude of ERA proxy components). Also, even ESMC agent is working on Windows XP, and we are actually addressing some performance issues for this system in the upcoming release.

That would also have the feature to export table in CSV directly from the table view.

If you don't use ERA Proxy with the ERA v6 server, the upgrade process is easy. Basically you should first back up the db and certificates, then send an ERA component upgrade task to the ERA server and it will upgrade automatically.  When done, you'll send an ESMC component upgrade task to clients to upgrade agent to v7 (don't upgrade agents prior to upgrading the server). While v6 agents will still be able to communicate with the ESMC server, in order to take advantage of all new features it's important to upgrade agents too. Likewise with Endpoint; while you can still manage older versions with ESMC, in order for you to take advantage of all new protection and other features, we strongly recommend upgrading to the latest v7.1 version by sending a software install task to clients.
