Chrome build 76.0.3809.87 Flags Eset Security and suggest it to be removed, Why?

This is not the first time and i believe that it may cause some BSOD sometimes.

Not sure about this but remember a while back google where saying about cracking down on AVs injecting into browsers as it they claimed they put the browsers at risk rather than made them safer. I believe if chrome crashes now and it seems to be a non google or microsoft program it warns the user of all things injecting into it but im not sure about all the details of it it relates to your issue

This situation is nothing new. Long forum thread on previous like behavior here: https://forum.eset.com/topic/15877-chrome-warning-to-remove-eset-endpoint-antivirus/ . In this thread, Eset was adamant that they were not the case of any BSOD's related to this warning.

Dump Chrome and use another browser. At least by doing so, your privacy will be maintained.

Dump Chrome?

You make it sound like its normal behavior..?

Im aware that Eset and google cooperate together, so that makes me wonder even more.

No i use chrome as my favorite browser of all time. I dont care that its chromes fault or for that matter Eset who is to blame.

I need to draw attention to this problem, cause its NOT normal and should not be present!

So Eset should contact google and work it out, not me..

@Marcos in the 2018 thread on this like issue repeatedly stated what this Chrome warning message is about. That is Chrome blaming any app that attempts to inject into it as the cause of the BSOD whether it was the source or not.

According to a Google dev who posted to a Google help forum question regarding these alerts, they have no way of determine programs who are innocently injecting code or purposely and will continue to report on all of them.

A Google Chrome developer responded to the issue on June 22:

Chrome dev here. This is related to a new feature that aims to prevent third party software from injecting into Chrome’s processes and interfering with its code. This type of software injection is rampant on the Windows platform, and causes significant stability issues (crashes). The Microsoft Edge browser already does this kind of blocking, and we are in the process of making Chrome behave similarly. What you are seeing is the warning phase of year-long effort to enable blocking, originally announced in November 2017.

Since it is effectively impossible for Chrome to automatically determine whether any particular piece of software is innocently injecting or purposefully injecting and interfering with Chrome code. To keep things simple we warn about all injected software, without making value judgments. Note that soon we will actually start blocking software from injecting, at which point this warning will cease to show. Note that you should only be seeing these crashes if you manually navigate to the chrome://settings/ incompatibleApplications page, or on a startup after the Chrome browser has crashed”.

It’s worth noting that this feature is currently considered experimental and only a small number users may see these warnings. If you’re seeing this error, you can ignore it.

I'd suggest checking the system Event log for information about recent Chrome crashes. If there are any crashes logged, I'd check with Process Explorer what other dlls besides from Google, Microsoft and ESET are loaded in Chrome processes right after launching it.

You could say that it's normal behaviour yes , because Chrome do gather lot of data about your browsing etc...

So as a user concerned for his/her privacy while browsing , yes they might choose to stop using Chrome for that.

Here is an quite old post for what Chrome does send to Google from your personal data : https://lifehacker.com/what-data-of-mine-does-chrome-send-to-google-5763452

I refuse to use anything Google related. All they do is gather your data.

Of course, personal choices are just that, personal.

Im aware of the data mining and etc..but comon. Its my choice to use Chrome and be looked over the shoulder everywhere. But that dont have anything to do with Chrome suggests removing Eset Security.

I mean, "someone" could choose to get rid of Eset and stick with Chrome..? ..i guess its not in the best interest of Eset?

I had hope that this thread would help me to get those 2 apps to work together, not choose Eset over Chrome or whatever.

If anyone has a fix for this, i would be very happy. Thanks

Have you tried disabling SSL/TLS filtering? I don't like this feature of any AV anyway as it breaks the pupose TLS in the first place so I always keep it turned off.

I'm a Firefox guy and don't even have Chrome installed so I don't know if it's related to this but you may try checking.

Never turn off SSL/TLS filtering or you'll expose your computer at risk. Otherwise blocking of malicious https urls may not work and especially new malware on such urls may not be detected and may run !

SSL/TLS filtering is in no way related to what is being discussed in this topic.

Ok not related then. Sorry for that. But anyway, turning off SSL/TLS is a personal preference of mine. I don't like AVs MITMing secure https connections. I have a safe browsing habit so I'm least likely to be affected by zero day threats and Eset literally have the best signatures on the market, one of the best in web protection and also I have set some HIPS rule to deny script, powershell, etc execution according to the guideline I found on Eset support page, host file modification and also using Firewall in interactive mode now so I feel pretty safe.
