TomFace 539 Posted July 22, 2019 Posted July 22, 2019 (edited) I just did a search on the Knowledgebase and to my shock and surprise it opened a Google search window. Has ESET made a change on the KB search? I REALLY do not trust ANYTHING Google (data gathering/mining). I just want to know what to expect. Regards, Tom Edited July 23, 2019 by TomFace
itman 1,801 Posted July 22, 2019 Posted July 22, 2019 No problem here when I clicked on the shown link using FF 68:
itman 1,801 Posted July 22, 2019 Posted July 22, 2019 (edited) OK. I now see what you are referring to when you enter a query into the search window. Yeah, I noticed this a while back. BTW - the Eset forum web site also uses Google Analytics if you weren't aware of that. So I guess being redirected to Google search is no big deal in the scheme of things. Administrators Marcos 5,451 Posted July 22, 2019 Administrators Posted July 22, 2019 Not sure if it's temporary because of a transition to another KB system or if the new KB system will use Google for searching. I'd leave it for other colleagues to comment it.
ESET Moderators foneil 342 Posted July 22, 2019 ESET Moderators Posted July 22, 2019 The ESET Knowledgebase is transitioning to a new backend system and during the transition the default ESET KB search will open a sitesearch on Google.
TomFace 539 Posted July 23, 2019 Author Posted July 23, 2019 Fer and Marcos....thanks for the information. It was seamless previously (not leaving ESET's realm), bit I guess this is progress(??). Regards, Tom
