Samoréen 8
Hi, My Windows 7 Security event log is absolutely full of audit failures generated by ESET NOD32. Most of them are triggered when ekern.exe is trying to access font (TTF / TTC) files or INF files. I will certainly exclude c:\windows\inf and c:\windows\fonts. Is this risky? Thanks. Administrators Marcos 4,706 Posted February 26, 2014 Administrators Share Posted February 26, 2014 Basically those files shouldn't be scanned by ESET. Try excluding the appropriate folders to see if the errors go away. Excluding any object poses a risk as malware can copy to a folder or infect a file that would otherwise be recognized and blocked.
