Server Task - Agent Deployment Failed to start

Hello,

I got status message Failed to start task when I run Server Task to deploy ERA Agent from inside the ERA Console.

I tried:

  • use different login credentials to the Task
  • create a new task for agent installation
  • Other task (Active Directory Sync) works fine with the same credentials

Can you give me some guidance to troubleshoot this error?

Thanks,

Peter

Hello,

I just found a clue,

I did an ERA Server restart and after that the Tomcat7 service wont came up.

I found that a newer version of java was installed with the windows updates and the path was changed. I changed the path to the Tomcat7 properties.

After that the Tomcat7 service came up and the ERA agent installation was working again.

I don't know if the ERA server agent installation task requires java and If this was the reason for not starting.

Thanks,

Peter

I don't see reason why miss-configured Tomcat would result in remote deployment task failure. I would recommend to check ESMC's trace.log for possible clue why task was not started properly. Any chance you also restarted ESMC before it started to work properly? If so, that is most probably what resolved your issue, but it is hard to guess what could have been reason why task was not even starting.
