Just been alerted on ECA that a new version of EES was availiable (7.1.2045.5), had to go to https://www.eset.com/us/business/endpoint-security/windows-security/download/ to find out the changelog.

Version 7.1.2045.X

  • Added: Audit log
  • Added: Security report
  • Added: Custom repository server
  • Added: Windows 10 Redstone 6 (19H1) compatibility
  • Added: ESMC 7.0 compatibility
  • Changed: PUA communication and term use throughout product (“Threat” has been replaced with “Detection” when PUA is detected)
  • Changed: Product is Micro PCU "ready" (Program Component Update)
  • Improved: Application notifications and statuses
  • Improved: Optimized Real-time file system protection module
  • Improved: Product update guidance
  • Improved: Notifications of license expiration
  • Improved: Licensing backend
  • Fixed: Slow performance when cleaning archives with several hundreds of infected files
  • Fixed: Changes to local lists in Override mode can become lost and replaced by ESMC policy rules
  • Fixed: Override mode duration between version 7.0 and 7.1

Does the Changed: Product is Micro PCU "ready" (Program Component Update) now mean that clients will start to get the update automatically?

I have this setting to Autoupdate in the policy for PCU, my clients are all currently on 7.0.2100.4

Yes, this mean that clients starting with latest version of 7.0 will be automatically updated to 7.1 once the micro PCU is enabled on our servers and in the Endpoint settings.  Previously the functionality was ready, but was not enabled due to it´s behavior, where the "reported version" was not changed in ESMC, even when the client was updated over micro PCU. This is now changed and we will be enabling it soon.

Is there still an option to set not to automatically restart the computer after the auto-update?

@MichalJ

When PCU will be enabled on ESET servers?

  • 2 weeks later...

Can you please clarify if 7.1 client is fully compatible with 7.0 ESMC?

Is this what "Added: ESMC 7.0 compatibility" means?

Thank you.
