Greetings.

When I want to download AdwCleaner Eset blocks it saying that the site certificate was revoked and should be marked as a non-trusted site. In the forums malwarebytes say that the site has no problems and is a bad configuration of Eset.

Who to believe?

I do not believe that it is a virus that prevents the entrance to sites of download of security software because it is the only site that marks this problem.

Thanks in advance.

I'm currently waiting for a clarification from a developer of the web protection module. Will keep you posted. You can temporarily pause web access protection to download files from there.

I see one issue. Toolslib.net appears to use TLS 1.0.

Also a bit strange that Malwarebytes.com would redirect to another web site for a download.

You might want to download AdwCleaner from here: https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/dl/125/ . Zip download issues.

Thank you for your answers.

AdwCleaner is distributed through toolslib, but since Malwarebytes acquired the program queries are made from their forums.

This is the first time I have this problem when I want to download AdwCleaner.

Can I ask if they tried to access the toolslib page ?, and if so, do they also experience this block?

This is a capture of the message that appears.

I just scanned toolslib.net using QUALS SSL Server check and they gave the site an A+ rating: https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/analyze.html?d=toolslib.net&s=51.15.229.92&latest . All certs. look OK except they are using a self-signed Let's Encrypt cert.. Only thing QUALS noted was:

OCSP STAPLING ERROR: OCSP response expired on Tue Mar 05 18:00:00 UTC 2019

Thank you again for answering, but I do not understand what you want to say very well.

What worries me is knowing if there is a problem with my antivirus or it is ok that blocked the download of this site.

Excuse the insistence. Is that I'm a little paranoid with the security of my PC, and when something strange happens I get restless.

You will have to be patient and let @Marcos get back to you with whatever issue Eset is detecting with the web site. If you immediately have to download AdwCleaner for some reason, you can do so via the bleepingcomputer.com link I posted previously.

Hello,

AdwCleaner team member from Malwarebytes here.

URL of the post on the MB forum for reference: https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/243637-problem-to-download-adwcleaner/?tab=comments#comment-1303008

This website has been the download site for several years, BC has always been a mirror. It's the expected flow currently from the https://malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner/ in order to download AdwCleaner.

The SSL/TLS configuration is correct as stated earlier, and the support of TLS 1.0 and 1.1 is for compatibility with legacy clients. The OCSP issue has been solved. Let me know if you need further info on this end.

I do believe this issue is related to the SSL/TLS inspector engine of ESET, but I'm not able to test in a handy manner. I've advised @Hijin25 to disable this "protection" (following these instructions https://support.eset.com/kb5833/?viewlocale=en_US) in order to confirm this causes the issue.

I'll be happy to provide any information that could help to solve this issue, just let me know.

Thanks,

Appears the issue has been resolved. I can download AdwCleaner from the Malwarebytes site w/o issue.

I thank you for your kind attention and assistance.

Effectively there is no alert when downloading the site.

They took a great weight off me. XD
