Entropy 0
Hi Guys, Apologies if this is against the rules. Does anybody have any guidance on running ESET Endpoint Antivirus v ESET File Security on Windows Server? Our customers have previously used ESET Endpoint antivirus on the windows server machines although it seems windows server compatibility is being removed and a new product "ESET File Security" is now needed? If a customer has a license for say 50 ESET endpoint devices will they now need an additional ESET file security license to cover the windows server machine if this was previously covered by one of the endpoint antivirus licenses? Administrators Marcos 5,271 Posted February 25, 2019 Administrators Share Posted February 25, 2019 To my best knowledge, a license for a certain number of endpoints should also include a license for ESET File Security. Please contact ESET UK for details. Peter Randziak
ESET Staff MichalJ 434 Posted February 25, 2019 ESET Staff Share Posted February 25, 2019 @Entropy The best thing to verify whether your license is entitled to activate ESET File Security for Microsoft Windows Server (which is indeed recommended to be run on server OS), you can check the license in ELA / EBA (ESET License Administrator / ESET Business Account). If it says "ESET Endpoint Security + File Security", it would work for sure. Otherwise, if your license is above 25 seats, unilicense concept should apply to it, so ESET UK should be able to convert it into eligible license at no extra cost.
