eset repeats finding PUB file over and over

Recommended Posts

I'm trying out the trial version NOD32. Many times during the day the program says it has found a file and do I want to quarantine or otherwise get rid of the file. When I click on the button to remove the file, it goes away, then comes rite back. Click remove again and it goes away (until the next time later in the day). The filename is JS/Spigot.B. Obviously, it's not actually deleting the file.

Also, something is preventing the Windows backup program from either Restoring a backup or creating a new backup. Windows says it can't find any backups or a drive to put them on. I  can clearly see E drive, that holds the backups, along with several other files, in Windows Explorer.  If there is a virus, ESET is not finding it. Neither is it finding and removing a file or program that is placing ads on my desktop. Don't know if that qualifies as a virus but I'd sure like to get rid of it.

I am running Windows 7.

Marcos,

I'm not getting how to drag from my desktop and drop on this website. Nor am I getting "choose files".OK, I choose the files I need, which opens in File Explorer. After highlighting the files, then what? Click on .......?

After clicking Choose files, browse for the zip file generated by ELC and click Open. Alternatively you can upload the file to a safe location (e.g. OneDrive, DropBox, etc.) and drop me a personal message with a download link.

There is a folder on the desktop that has the following: 3 folders (Config, ESET, Windows)  and 4 files (collector log, features state, info, and metadata) How do I create a link to my desktop and that folder?

I have to be away for 3 hours. I'll get back to  later today. And thanks for your efforts,

WN

ELC generates a zip archive with the files you mentioned inside. The zip file is just one so you can easily upload it here. Or upload it to OneDrive, DropBox, etc. and drop me a private message with a download link.
