Most Valued Members ewong 6 Posted December 8, 2018 Most Valued Members Share Posted December 8, 2018 I've upgraded one server to v7 of ERA(ESMC) and now when I go to the webconsole, all I get is a black screen. I've looked at the page source and noticed that there is a message (which can't be seen in the black screen), that says " JavaScript is disabled. Please enable JavaScript in your browser." But having tried it with all available browsers on my system(and getting the same thing), what am I missing? I have done the following: Restarted the ESMC service Restarted the Tomcat service (it failed to start .. but found out that I had installed the wrong java 8 package.. ) installed the x64 java 8 Rebooted twice Now I'm planning to uninstall Tomcat and install it again according to https://support.eset.com/kb6753/?locale=en_US&viewlocale=en_US But before I do, is there something else I can try? Thanks Edmund
Most Valued Members ewong 6 Posted December 8, 2018 Author Most Valued Members Share Posted December 8, 2018 (edited) Welp, I managed to fubar the whole setup and now, I'm attempting to fix it by uninstalling all the necessary components and reinstalling them. ESET Staff MartinK 375 Posted December 8, 2018 ESET Staff Share Posted December 8, 2018 I would start with re-deploying just Webconsole into tomcat (i.e. manual upgrade/installation of era.war). Have you tried another browser? Or maybe the same, but with disabled plugins to be sure nothing blocks console to be loaded?

Regarding the redeploying of the webconsole, is that dependent on the ESMC and the ESMC Agent? Right now I'm stuck when installing ESMC, it goes to the SQL server setup and I'm stuck as I don't know the user information that ESMC because the ESMC agent failed installing and so I had to quit the whole installation process (I've tried both allowing it to uninstall the products AND not allowing it to uninstall). I figured I'd try setting up a MySQL server (I only have mariadb) but it requires the 5.3 version which I don't have. Edmund
ESET Staff janoo 11 Posted December 10, 2018 ESET Staff Share Posted December 10, 2018 Hi, webconsole is not dependent on the ESMC server (form the installation point of view). Those can be installed on different machines using separate installation methods. They only need to be the same version. During the All in one installation you can de-select the Webconsole component and install the ESMC server with the SQL express the easy way. Afterwards you can install webconsole manually https://help.eset.com/esmc_install/70/en-US/http_proxy_installation_linux.html?component_installation_webconsole_windows.html There is no need to tinker with agent or server if webconsole is failing this way. Most likely the problem is Java / browser / tomcat.
