knut 0 Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Hello people.I wrote myself a little vbs script that changes the default background image for the startup or shutdown.I hope the trick is known. Otherwise, here is a short explanation:You put in the following folder an image "backgroundDefault.jpg":C: \ Windows \ System32 \ oobe \ info \ backgrounds \ backgroundDefault.jpgThen, in the registry under:HKLM \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Authentication \ LogonUI \ Backgroundthe following entry:"OEMBackground" = dword: 00000001And you've got a nice little picture at shutdown But since I have the Eset Security Suite 6 installed, no longer works Does anyone know how I can get this to work again?
Administrators Marcos 5,446 Posted January 20, 2014 Administrators Posted January 20, 2014 Do you mean that ESET detects and quarantines the file?
knut 0 Posted January 20, 2014 Author Posted January 20, 2014 No. The image don't changing and is no show during startup or shutdown
Administrators Marcos 5,446 Posted January 20, 2014 Administrators Posted January 20, 2014 Why do you think that ESS is causing the issue? Did disabling some of the protection modules help? If no alert is triggered, it could be only HIPS that might block certain operations.
knut 0 Posted January 20, 2014 Author Posted January 20, 2014 Before I install eset it works perfect. After install it doesn't work. Where can i configure or deactivate HIPS?

Arakasi 549 Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Hey knut, another suggestion. . . Instead of using a vbscript for altering the OOBE, why dont you make the changes statically and permanently ? If you need some instructions on this, let me know, however its similar to your vbs file.
