ESET EndPoint AV 6.6 on Win 2016 RDS Server

Hi.

We have a client with Windows Server 2016 RDS server Windows Build 1607. They have ESET EndPoint AV 6.6 running on the RDS server.. it worked fine for a few months, but after migrating the VM server to a newer esxi 6.5 host, the server became sluggish, to the point of unresponsive after a few minutes from startup.

After a lot of troubleshooting, we removed the ESET EndPoint AV product, and then the server started responding again.

The ESET EndPoint product is not recommended for Windows servers (ESET File Security is the recommended product) - but what would the problems be if ESET EndPoint 6.6 is running on a RDS server?  Is ESET EndPoint 6.6 compatible with Windows Defender on Server 2016?

Would Windows Defender on Server 2016 interact or compete with ESET EndPoint AV ?

Help and some advise would be appreciated?

After installing ESET, Windows should turn off Windows Defender as soon as ESET registers in the Security Center. Please make sure that Windows Defender is not running when ESET is installed.

Thank you. Windows Defender is on.

How can we confirm if the ESET has registered correctly in the Security Center?

If Windows Defender does not see or registers the ESET AV - will they interfere with each other and the OS? As its basically two AV systems running simultaneously?

In my experience server 2016 does not disable defender when you install Eset (or any other av). This might be due to the fact that security center is not available in server os. Defender should be removed from the server manager.

in windows 10 it works fine though.
