ernz 0 Posted November 20, 2018 Posted November 20, 2018 modules update failed, file not found on server, detection engine out of date.. what will i do.. i had so many attempts already but still failed. Please help me. i just bought this antivirus few days ago.
Administrators Marcos 5,468 Posted November 20, 2018 Administrators Posted November 20, 2018 To make sure that correct update servers are used, uninstall ESET, download the installer from www.eset.com and install it. Afterwards activate it (either with a paid license key or activate a trial version) and it should update instantly. Also make sure that the machine is connected directly and not through a proxy server.
ernz 0 Posted November 20, 2018 Author Posted November 20, 2018 (edited) my eset is a paid license i bought on their website.. and i really wonder why it cannot be updated instantly as what u said. and yes my laptop is direvctly connected to a LAN. Edited November 20, 2018 by ernz
Administrators Marcos 5,468 Posted November 20, 2018 Administrators Posted November 20, 2018 You can enable advanced update engine logging in the advanced setup -> tools -> diagnostics and then run update. Next disable logging, gather logs with ESET Log Collector and provide me with the generated archive. Unfortunately you don't have ESET Internet Security installed which can also log network communication during update due to the Network protection module that it has but the update log should be enough to start off.
ernz 0 Posted November 20, 2018 Author Posted November 20, 2018 Marcus, ive clicked “diagnostics” , whats next?
ernz 0 Posted November 20, 2018 Author Posted November 20, 2018 I have enabled: ✅protocol filtering advance logging ✅update engine advanced logging ✅licensing advanced logging ✅device control advanced logging and then i run the update... still updating up to this moment..
Administrators Marcos 5,468 Posted November 20, 2018 Administrators Posted November 20, 2018 What do you mean by "still updating up to this moment" ? Did the update end with an error? If so, disable logging, gather logs with ESET Log Collector and provide me with the generated archive.
ernz 0 Posted November 21, 2018 Author Posted November 21, 2018 Hi marcus! I followed what u said earlier that i should uninstall my downloaded eset antivirus.. and i also uninstalled my previously installed other eset antivirus.. maybe thats the reason why the current modules cannot be updated. And Hola! I have successfully updated last night 😊😊😊. Now my laptop is being scanned for the first time and its taking so long to finish. Its been more than 12hours already. But its ok, ill wait till its finish. thank you so much for the instructions.. it helped me alot. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
