Neilyum 0
Hi Folks! ? Apologies in advance if this has been asked/answered elsewhere, I could not find the info. (Running ESET Internet Security 12.0.27.0 (fully updated) on Win 10 Home PC, 16GB RAM) I'm trying to have a sound (.WAV file) play when certain events are triggered. For example, completion of a Scan, or problems found, etc. I know where to look to see if this feature is available, and it is under Setup / Advanced Setup / User Interface and "Use Sound Signal" is already checked/enabled. I guess I'm confused because I have NO idea *where* these sounds are located and/or how to change them. Any Info, tips, advice, etc. will be very much appreciated! Thanks in advance! ? Administrators Marcos 4,935 Posted November 12, 2018 Administrators Share Posted November 12, 2018 You should hear a sound signal after a scan has completed. I reckon it's "Asterisk" which is played.
Neilyum 0
Hi Marcos! ? Thanks for the quick reply! Unfortunately, I do not hear the "Asterisk" or any other sound after a Scan is completed. Any other thoughts, suggestions?
Neilyum 0
Does *anyone* running Internet Security version 12.0.27.0 hear a sound played when a Scan is finished or interrupted? (If so, can you please explain [1] how you did it, and [2] where your sounds are coming from?) Thanks in advance! 🙂
itman 1,630
I also don't get any audio sound notification when a scan completes on IS 12.0.27. Can't recollect if I did on prior Eset versions or not. This feature has never been a big deal for me since the Eset desktop toolbar icon shows graphically that a scan is underway. When that stops, I know the scan completed.

I will get an audible on Eset firewall, HIPS, etc.. alerts. But never as I recollect on scan completions. My best guess is the Windows sound event Eset is using for scan completions is not "*" which is indeed assigned a default audible; i.e. Windows.Background.wav. I think that explains it , I mute all of the Windows sounds.
TomFace 539
EIS used to send a sound (an Asterisk I believe) upon scan completion. But that went away sometime during v11 (or with v12). Regards, Tom
Administrators Marcos 4,935 Posted November 21, 2018 Administrators Share Posted November 21, 2018 There was a bug with the sound signal not being generated at the end of a scan which has been fixed recently. The fix will be included in the next v12 service release.
