AppArmor/SELinux Support

A request topic for the developers to see to include support for AppArmor/SELinux as per searches in Google , all workarounds are disabling them instead of working with them like here :

https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&u=https%3A%2F%2Feset-support.canon-its.jp%2Ffaq%2Fshow%2F3223%3Fsite_domain%3Ddefault&edit-text=

Or some other doc by ESET that describes how to disable SELinux - https://support.eset.com/kb2701/?viewlocale=en_US

If someone has a workaround to make ESET work with AppArmor / SELinux please reply, please also a reply from one of the devs for any news about the Linux version would be much appreciated.

ESET is just being prevented from working properly under AppArmor/SELinux , and AppArmor/SELinux are important for isolating the system from other software , disabling them isn't recommended that much.

Thanks.

Bump : Could someone explain to me or help me with the process of adding ESET to AppArmor allow list so AppArmor could allow ESET to work without interrupting it?

AppArmor is not supported. I don't think it's possible to work around it but you can contact customer care.

Why not , you just configure AppArmor to allow ESET to do it's job , it's similar to Windows Isolation system and yet v12 supports it

Free alternatives like Sophos can work along with AppArmor , so the question why ESET cannot.

Disabling AppArmor is not really recommended because it isolates the programs from touching the system where they are not meant to touch the system.

Customer Care doesn't really respond to this , or will reply to me that it's not supported , but now most Linux distros use SELinux/AppArmor , so why disabling a security feature in Linux for the AV to work instead of working as extra layer of protection.

Customer care can submit a market requirement if there's a demand for a specific feature. If the demand is high enough,it will be cosidered for future versions.
