I've just upgraded ESET Endpoint Anti Virus from 6.3.2016.0 to 7.0.2073.1 on a couple of machine and each time they restart I get the following error notification:

04/10/2018 04:33:17 - During execution of Kernel on the computer COMPUTERNAME, the following warning occurred: Registration to Windows Security Center was not successful

Even though the Protection Status says that I am protected, I am concerned it is not working properly because when I do the EICAR test, it doesn't pick it up.

I can't find much helpful information online - what can I do to fix this?

Since it will take more iterations to tackle the issue and probably also a dump will be needed, please contact customer care and create a support ticket.
